<description>it depends on how the tone is being set on a forum. The thing is, it only requires a few people to throw it into a specific direction. If one follows this 'path', other people will follow along.

At some point this does not happen on gamers forums, this happends on ANY forum. The mob will usually follow the trend which has been established. If it attracts new people they see a specific 'trend' and want to follow a certain persons behaviour.

It just comes down to simplicity. We are just a bunch of monkeys that just scream with the same tone more or less (not being offensive, but trying to make a point).

If there's a solid 'player' base which is friendly, then usually the trend remains the same. When a disease comes by, then cut out the disease as fast as you can before it brings more.

On a side note, when things tend to be nice &quot;all the time&quot;, it also has the tention to make things 'boring' on the long run for some people. And when that happends you probably know what the outcome is going to be like... people start to become 'trolls'... And the worse ones are the guys that have been there for a long time, yet hide behind their real identity.

there, long reply... I thought I would just mention it :)

In worse case scenario, avoid the threads/forums which you don't like and stick with the once that have a nice vibe to it. I doubt setting up an own forum will be the solution here since it requires more then just &quot;a forum&quot;. A forum is marely a tool to communicate with.

Cheers,
